When Working Isn’t Work, Success Is Inevitable.
Dylan Whitmire, an enthusiastic entrepreneur and native Georgian, started G. A. R. S., Inc. With a little less than $10,000 to his name, two 1996 Chevrolet Astro vans, no clients, and only one employee, Tim Orahood, Mr. Whitmire threw caution to the wind to pursue his lifelong dream. Within four months, G. A. R. S., Inc. had over fifty serviceable locations and had added another crucial team member, David Metz, and the three of them worked 80-100 hours a week trying to achieve success. By the time the first year came to an end, G. A. R. S., Inc. had exceeded their monetary goals, added five new employees, and had their first taste of success.
As G. A. R. S., Inc. grew by leaps and bounds, all of the charter employees came to the realization that to create a successful business, you must first meet and exceed your customer’s expectations. Secondly, you must know when it is time to share in responsibility to obtain your goals.
After two successful years in service, the business was booming. David Metz, our service manager, introduced Mr. Whitmire to Mike Bond, a veteran of the industry, and a partnership was born. It did not take long for them to know this was the right fit. Mr. Bond, owner of Pioneer Refrigeration and C.O.O. of G. A. R. S., Inc., had an extensive background in commercial HVAC and commercial refrigeration design and installation. His work was the epitome of excellent quality. With thirty years in the industry, Mike’s company had designed multiple movie studios and become experts in Silent Air HVAC systems. After the merger, G. A. R. S., Inc. would never be the same.
By the end of 2014, the company had a brand new fleet of vehicles, a large warehouse, a new office in the Carolinas, and an annual revenue more than four times what they’d predicted.
Going into the future, G. A. R. S., Inc. looks forward to continued growth and success. The company has been blessed to find some critical team members to add to an already incredibly talented team of technicians. Our success is based solely on the success of one another. We have all become a family, and enjoy one another’s success and personal as well as professional growth.
Our goal moving forward is to continue to provide excellent customer service while giving our customers service that is second-to-none.
